Qantas grounded all its planes yesterday in a remarkable escalation of a lingering three-union dispute over wages and conditions.
Is this truly the 'spirit of Australia'? Bloody-minded brinkmanship?
The Newbery family will not be choosing Qantas for any future flights.

I agree! And I don't think Alan Joyce can be taken seriously when he and his board have just awarded themselves hugh wage rises. Apparently the rank and file who keep the bloody planes running can go screw themselves as far as getting any sort of pay rise at all.
I wouldn't fly Qantas in a fit. They used to have an excellent name but since they went public it's gradually all gone to shit, and they've had many close calls over the last few years. Their tickets are also more expensive than anyone else.
When Joyce has run it into the ground he will probably get a big, fat, golden handshake when he trots off back to Ireland - like they all do, regardless of performance. Wankers the lot of them!
Sue, could you stop beating around the bush and just say what you think?
